Shirley Greene

Shirley Greene - Accomplished Harvard Senior College Administrator

A higher education senior administrator, Shirley Greene serves as senior associate dean of student affairs and local designated resource at Harvard University, drawing on more than 20 years of professional experience. Shirley Greene also has expertise in diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Dr. Greene serves as the chair of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Committee at the Division of Continuing Education. She also serves as the local designated resource for non-discrimination and anti-bullying. In addition, she designed and launched both the Creating Space initiative and Building Bridges initiative to allow staff and students to hold discussions on topics such as campus climate, discrimination, unconscious bias, race, gender, and disability challenges.

Other committees that Shirley Greene actively participates as a voting member on include the Academic Policy Committee, Council of Dean of Students, Electronic Communications Committee, and Student Conduct Committee. In addition to her role as senior associate dean of student affairs at the Harvard University Division of Continuing Education, she served Harvard University as the assistant/associate dean of students, associate director of admissions, and administrative fellow.

Shirley Greene is affiliated with numerous organizations, such as Harvard Association of Black Faculty, Administrators, and Fellows, where she serves as treasurer. She is also a member of the National Association for Student Personnel Administrators and the Harvard University Administrative Fellowship Program, serving as a mentor and career coach in the latter program. When she’s not working, she enjoys traveling, volunteering, and renovating old homes.
